the root cause of hair damage is structural
Hair is not built from protein alone. Healthy hair relies on a highly organized lipid–protein matrix, where proteins provide strength and lipids act as the natural matrix that holds the fiber together.
When hair is exposed to chemical, heat, or environmental stress, these lipids are progressively depleted. The fiber begins to lose its internal organization. Protein networks become less connected, the structure becomes increasingly porous and unstable, and the hair loses its ability to maintain strength, flexibility, and resilience.
This is a result of structural deterioration, not simply broken bonds.

beyond bond-building
entering the structural era of hair repair
For years, hair repair has focused on reconnecting broken bonds. But chemical damage goes deeper than bond repair alone can fully address — disrupting the lipid–protein structure that keeps hair strong, flexible, and resilient.
LABORIE derma’s Lipid–Protein Matrix Technology represents a new direction in hair science — moving beyond isolated repair toward molecular structural reconstruction for long-term fibre integrity.
LABORIE derma Wins at the 2026 C&T Allē Awards
a scientifically proven breakthrough in molecular hair reconstruction
Unlike traditional bond-building approaches, the technology focuses on reconstructing the lipid–protein structure that underpins hair strength and resilience.
This reflects a broader shift in the industry—from repairing isolated bonds to restoring the structural system of the hair fibre.

a shift toward “Structural” hair repair
Lipid–Protein Matrix Technology targets the relationship between lipids and proteins within the hair fibre itself.
Using biomimetic lipids designed to behave like those naturally found in hair, the technology penetrates through the cuticle, cortex, and medulla to help restore the intercellular lipid matrix that stabilises protein networks and supports strength, flexibility, and long-term resilience.
how it works – molecular mechanism

scientifically validated performance
Lipid-Protein Matrix Technology has been scientifically validated and featured in Dermatology Research & Practice (Wiley, 2025) — confirming the first biotechnology proven to rebuild the full lipid–protein structure of damaged hair, not temporary correction.
At LABORIE derma, we are committed to conducting rigorous scientific research and sharing it with our customers through open-access, peer-reviewed publications. Click here to read the full study.

Clinically proven benefits
Visible

SEM imaging showed improved cuticle alignment and a smoother, more organized hair surface after treatment. Hair fibers were analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with a FE-SEM S4800 at 10 kV at magnifications ranging from 2000 to 5000.
SEE STUDY DETAILSRenewal

Cross-sectional SEM imaging showed a more uniform and cohesive internal hair structure after treatment, with reduced structural gaps and visible restoration of the fiber architecture. Hair cross-sections were analyzed using a FE-SEM S4800 microscope at 10 kV and magnifications of 2000.
SEE STUDY DETAILSStrength

Treated fibers regained over 30% tensile strength compared with bleached controls and surpassed other performance, demonstrating stronger and more resilient hair fibers. Hair strength was measured using a Force Gauge at a constant extension speed of 25 mm/sec under controlled laboratory conditions.
SEE STUDY DETAILSBiomimetic lipid

Lipid analysis showed restoration of natural hair lipids to near-virgin levels after bleaching damage (8.811% vs. 8.703% in virgin hair). Total lipid content was quantified using solvent extraction and gravimetric.
